Mexico!
We went there for a friends wedding which was just amazing. This is a picture of Peter and Gwen after they were pronounced husband and wife.
The wedding was at sunset in his parents back yard. Everything was beautifully decorated and the food was to die for.
What a great ending to a wonderful trip.

Cute things Kyle says!

Kyle can be so cute some days. His brain is always going and he comes up with the best sayings or cutest ideas. Just the other day I had misplaced my keys, again. I asked him if he had seen them and he said he had but did not know where they might be. I told him that if we did not find them then we could not get him to hockey. He had a look of deep thought on his face and I thought "great he knows where the keys are". After a few seconds he looks at me and says " Do you know the way if we walk?" He did not care about the keys at all just that we got to hockey. Luck I found the keys and we did not have to walk.
Yesterday we went to Ikea. They have a great kids play area that Kyle loves to go to and then after we usually eat in the cafeteria. So we went shopping for an hour and when I picked him up he was hungry, of course! I told him that when we were done shopping we would eat. He kept saying how hungry he was and that he could not wait and he needed to eat now! After a few minutes of this I was getting tired of hearing it and then he said in a very exasperated voice "nobody is helping me grow big and strong". I was laughing so loud and hard poeple were looking at me funny and I think even Kyle forgot how hungry he was.

Kyle's 5th Birthday!
Kindergarten is actually pretty tough on him but he will eventually adjust, I hope!
For Kyle's 5th birthday party we went to Mountain Shadows Gymnastics Club in Okotoks. (This was his choice) It is a very hard time of the year to have a party because the hair show always falls the weekend before Thanksgiving and his birthday always falls one of those weekends. We were able to gather up about 10 kids and we had a great time.

First Day of School!
I guess I am a bit behind with the back to school thing but with 2 computers crashing and all the kids stuff going on around here it has been CRAZY!!!!
Both kids have started school successfully, Hanna in Grade 4 and Kyle in Kindergarten.
Hanna has just done wonderfully so far this year. She is really applying herself (I remember teachers saying that I needed to
apply myself more, YUCK!!) and seems to be doing much better than the end of last year. I have also been bribing her with horse riding lessons. She has not started them yet but she really wants to. I am so proud of her and all her hard work.
Kyle is not liking kindergarten so much. He gets really tired and grumpy by the end of the day. I think the rules and structure is to much for his carefree, energetic personality. I am sure it will get better as the year goes on. Hanna has been a big help in teaching him letters, writing, math and french. She also takes him to and from school on the days he goes. She is a great big sister. Don't get me wrong, they still fight, all the time!

BBQ
We went to Lethbridge for the annual BBQ out at the farm. The kids had a great time playing on the quad and riding their bikes. There were a few other kids for them to play with. The one little girl kept calling Kyle "cutie".
It was pretty hot out there but we had ice to cool us off. Mom and kyle both has their feet in ice to cool down.
The more junk they had the happier they were and of course the dirtier they got. After we got home they had a bath and the water was Black. YUCK!!!

All in all it was a wonderful summer afternoon. I can't wait till next year.

Keith's foot update

Just a bit of an update on Keith.
We went to the doctor today and he took all eight pins out of Keith's foot. I have them pictured here and to see the actual size of them I have put one up against a ruler. It is longer than 9cm.
Yikes!!! They were taken out using a bit of force and a hand crank drill. Not very pleasant if you ask me.
Yikes!!! They were taken out using a bit of force and a hand crank drill. Not very pleasant if you ask me.I am so excited to have this part of it over with. Now we are on to a whole new set of feelings and emotions. The healing process is something neither of us are familiar with so it promises to be interesting. Keith has a long road ahead of himself but I have faith and know with allot of hard work he can be better than before.
Thanks to everyone for their love and support. We really appreciate what everyone has done for us.
