Happy New Year!

What a wonderful Christmas we had this year. It may have been a bit rushed but we were able to spend it with family and that is what matters. Keith was able to make it home an spend 3 days with us. The kids were thrilled and it was nice to have someone to snuggle with. Even though it has only been a few weeks it feels like a lifetime when they are not around.
We want back to Lethbridge where we were all spoiled with gifts and food, lots and lots of food. When I got home I wished I had taken some left over home.I really enjoy the time I spend with my sisters. We have such a time when we are all together. We are each very different and I wonder how my mother and father were able to deal with us sometimes, even now when we keep them up till 2 in the morning laughing and arguing. They are great and I love them.

I wish everyone all the best in the New Year 2007.

Christmas letter

I have begun to send out my Christmas cards with an attached letter but I thought it might be nice to post it here also. Please take the time to enjoy it twice!

Dear Family & Friends

We hope you are spending your time enjoying this wonderful holiday season. I love this time of year, getting together with friend, going to Christmas parties and the kids Christmas concerts. The kids are so excited, especially the other night when we put up the Christmas tree and decorated the house. Actually, I think they liked playing in the box the tree came in more than the decorating it. However, it is amazing what a box can turn into in the minds of 2 children. They even wanted to sleep in the box all night long and were not happy when I wouldn’t let them.
Life in our house has been very different and busy this year. Keith has taken on a new job which takes him out of town for long periods of time. We have been fortunate enough to have him within a few hours from home. That is until this last job which has taken him to Colorado. He has been gone for a couple of weeks and might be there well into the New Year. We miss him an awful lot but with all this wonderful technology out there we get to see and speak to each other everyday if not 2 or 3 times a day through cell phones and the internet. It is a wonderful thing especially for the kids; it helps them not miss him so much.
I am still as busy as ever. Of course taking on the role as a single parent while Keith is away, I work 3 days a week at Heads Up Hair Design still doing hair and esthetics as well as working out of my salon in my basement, and selling my “Stampin Up!” doing card making classes. I have also started something new, selling “Partylite” candles and accessories. Some days I wonder what have I gotten myself into. I guess it is better than sitting around doing nothing, even though a day or two of that might be nice once in awhile.
Hanna really likes to take life easy now that she is in grade 3. She loves swimming and is very good at it so we have her in swim club 2 days a week. She would love to go every day, which may happen if she decides to get involved in some competitions, but for now I like the 2 days a week just fine. She is also in Brownies which she does not seem to like very much. She says “I don’t like sitting in a circle and doing crafts”, I said “What do you mean, I love doing that stuff!” I guess it is not about me is it? She is way more like Keith than me that I am sure of.
Kyle on the other hand is a ball of energy and you can usually find him bouncing off the walls. He is now 4 years old and still loves all sports so we decided to let him play hockey this year. He is one of the youngest players on his team and works very hard to be like the older boys. He certainly has come a long way in a short period of time and Keith sure enjoys every minute of it also. I never wanted to be the “hockey mom” but here I am cheering in the stands and feeling so proud of my little guy. (I think I am starting to like it) He gets to play in something called the “Big League” at the Calgary Saddledome Sunday January 21st at 9:30 am and everyone is invited to see him play. There is no cost and we look forward to seeing you there.
We want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year.

Love,
Keith, Jenny
Hanna & Kyle Jones

Christmas Concerts

Tonight was Kyle's Christmas concert for his daycare. As we walked into the building Santa was walking infront of us. Kyle was in utter amazement to see Santa up close and personal. He was so excited as Santa made his way around the room to greet all the boys and girls. After about 2 minutes of waiting he had not made his way over to see Kyle yet and Kyle gave a big sign and said "What is taking him so long!". Well that was enough to make me laugh. I told him to go up to Santa and say "Hello!". So he did, he marched right over their and gave him a big hello and a high five and told him about
playing hockey. What a great guy that Santa is!
It defiantly was the highlight of the evening because the actual singing part was not so good. Kyle can sing like you would not believe in the house or car or even at the dinner table, but put him up on a stage and nothing! Oh well! We have it on tape to show him when he is older.
Merry Christmas to you all!
